Delete Now! The Threatening Danger Behind This Crypto Application

With the popularity of cryptocurrencies, it turns out that the danger still threatens its users. One of them is a number of applications that are reported to be dangerous and can drain money.

There are eight applications that Google found in its Play Store application store. The company also said it had removed all of the malicious apps.

Users who have already installed the application on their cellphones are also asked to delete it immediately. How to enter the Settings menu > Apps, continue by pressing the name of the application and selecting Uninstall.

  • Ethereum (ETH) – Pool Mining Cloud

All of those apps use a ‘get rich quick’ scheme. Users will be asked to invest their money and hope to make a profit.

Unfortunately, that’s just part of the scam. Because Trend Micro reports the app is not free and even users have to pay to upgrade. The money to be paid also varies from US $ 14.99 to the US $ 189.99.

“While the apps aren’t associated with cloud mining operations or have crypto mining features, some apps require users to pay for crypto upgrades via an in-app billing system for US$14.99 to US$189.99,” Trend Micro said.

Do not stop there, this malicious application will ask its victims to pay in order to increase the ability to perform crypto mining. Namely offering to buy crypto machines in the Cloud and this is done by an application called Daily Bitcoin Rewards – Cloud Based Mining Systems.

“An app called Daily Bitcoin Rewards – Cloud Based Mining Systems asks users to upgrade their mining capacity by ‘buying’ their favorite machine to get more coins for more coins,” explains Trend Micro.

Trend Micro added that another malicious act is forcing them to watch ads and become customers with an average of US $ 115 per month.

Crimes in the name of this crypto don’t just happen to those 8 applications. But there are many more applications that also use the same scheme.

Trend Micro reports the number of more than 120 apps. It is even reported that these applications infected 4,500 users in 2020.
