Cryptokitties is a blockchain-based crypto game that carries the play-to-earn concept, which was born before Axie Infinity.
The CryptoKitties game was created by Axiom Xen in 2017 and is claimed to be the first game built on the Ethereum blockchain network.
Similar to Axie Infinity, in this game the player is tasked with collecting digital cats and breeding them so that they produce keys and moves.
To be able to breed digital cats, players need to have a Sire (male cat) and Dame (female). If the player only has one type of cat, then the player can borrow another player’s cat.
Players who lend their keys will get a profit as rent. The amount of the rental fee depends on the agreement between players.
Later, the results of the development of this digital cat can be rented to breed again or for sale. The more steps the cat is born, the more expensive the selling price.
Quoting from the official Cryptokitties website, when a kitten is born, the appearance and attributes of the offspring are determined by the 256-bit genome of each of their parents.
Therefore, every cat born is unique and the only one owned by the player so it cannot be duplicated, retrieved, or even eliminated.
The developer of this game assesses that cats are animals that are difficult to understand and do not discriminate against each other.
In addition, cats have sharp claws and eyesight but cats are cute and very entertaining animals. Based on Coin Market Cap data, Wrapped Basic CryptoKitties (WCK) has a market capitalization of US$571,595 on Thursday (11 Nov 2021).
