Asian stocks tend to weaken in early trading today. Thursday (28/10) at 08.21 AM (GMT+7), the Nikkei 225 index looks down 01.18% to 28,754.46. In contrast, the Hang Seng index also edged up 0.08% to 25,648.42.

The Taiex index fell 0.09% to 17,059.16. Meanwhile, the Kospi index managed to rise 0.27% to 3,033.58. And the ASX 200 index was down 0.15% at 7,437.50.

Meanwhile, the FTSE Straits Times rose 0.2% to 3,224.68 and the FTSE Malay KLCI fell 0.19% to 1,580.00.

The movement of stock markets in Asia tends to weaken as investors await the announcement of the latest monetary policy from the Bank of Japan (BOJ) which will be released today.

The Japanese central bank is predicted to maintain its super-loose policy at this meeting.

This makes the Japanese stock market down in early trading. Moreover, the latest data shows that Japan’s retail sales in September 2021 fell 0.6% year on year (YoY).

Pressure for stock markets in the region increased because, in the previous session, Wall Street closed correction. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 266.19 points to 35,490.69 and the S&P 500 slipped about 0.51% to 4,551.68. While the Nasdaq Composite was flat at 15,235.84.
